Health Promotion Projects on Organ Donation

“Love others like ourselves – pass life to others” – a social marketing program to promote organ donation among Protestant and Roman Catholic church goes and their significant others

This project will design and implement a social marketing campaign aiming at promoting awareness, intention and behaviour (registration for organ donation) related to organ donation targeting Protestant and Roman Catholic church goers and their families, relatives, friends and co-workers. Church is a setting with strong expressed supportive values for organ donation. Liaison with at least 25 churches in Hong Kong to hold an event on a worship day for organ donation promotion will be made. Health promotion materials (i.e. poster, leaflet, small card, and mobile app) will be produced by a panel of specialists. A counter will be set up to distribute materials, answer questions and encourage registration. Interested church-goers will be asked to send the health promotion message to at least three their significant others. The project will train church administrators and/or volunteers to support current and future campaigns to enhance sustainability. The project will also be evaluated.
