BeHealth 2—Behavioral Interventions: Evidence, Practice, and Life-course Perspectives

The Centre for Health Behaviours Research was a supporting organization for BeHealth 2—Behavioral Interventions: Evidence, Practice, and Life-course Perspectives held on 13 November 2016 at Yasumoto International Academic Park, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.


We were joined by 24 distinguished invited speakers and chairs from local universities, NGOs, and the education sector in Hong Kong. Prof. Brian Oldenburg, University of Melbourne, and Dr. Judith Mackay were keynote speakers. The conference was attended by 130 participants from Hong Kong and Mainland China. It included comprehensive discussions about experiences and challenges in regards to translating evidence into policies and practices. The conference ended with a dynamic roundtable sharing and discussion on Mental Health Promotion-upstream prevention for adolescent suicide.

The roundtable sharing included several speakers: Prof. Steven Ngai (CUHK), Ms. Lilian Law (BGCA), Prof. Joseph Lau (CUHK), Prof. Sylvia Kwok (CityU), Dr. Qijin Cheng (HKU), and Mr. Chun Hung Lau (Lok Sin Tong Yu Kan Hing Secondary School), and parent/student representatives, and was chaired by Dr. Yuen Wan Choi.  A post-conference workshop on “What you always wanted to know about digital health programs but have been afraid to ask?” was delivered by Prof Brian Oldenburg.

 

The conference signifies our continuous efforts to promote behavioral health in Hong Kong and beyond.
